University Preparation Summer Course

Who is this course for?

Bristol International College (BIC) is running a series of 2-week intensive University Preparation Courses at the University of Bath (ranked #9 in UK by THE 2021) in July and August for international students (14-17 years old) who want to experience life at one of the UK’s leading universities in a World Heritage City. This course offers ambitious high school students the unique opportunity to live and study on a top 10 ranked UK university campus in one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Students will also visit a selection of other leading UK universities in order to compare locations, facilities, faculties and entry requirements; this will help to inform those who are considering applying for university in the UK after finishing their secondary education.

Programme Requirements

  • Age range 14-17
  • B1 / IELTS 5.0 English level or higher

Programme Overview

  • 2-week intensive academic course of study (social sciences)
  • 40 contact hours
  • Core subject: EAP (English for Academic Purposes; compulsory 10 hours)
  • Elective Subjects: Maths, Economics, Business Studies, International Relations, Politics, IELTS Preparation (choose 4 x 7.5 hours per subject)
  • Full-board campus accommodation in single study bedrooms
  • Mixed nationality classes of maximum 12 students

  • 6 UK university visits: University of Bristol, Cardiff University, University of London, University of the West of England, Exeter University, University of Oxford
