We continue to update you on relevant issues from the world of international education and the latest update on the impact of COVID-19 on our provision of courses both in Bristol and online.
Vaccination gives hope for a return to normality
The first consignment of the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine has arrived in the UK and is being distributed to hospital vaccination centres around the UK. This welcome news makes it more than likely that all schools, colleges and universities will be back to normal teaching and activities by September 2021. Good News for Bristol International College! Bristol leads the way in technology
Bristol’s tech scene has undergone a healthy year of growth despite the coronavirus pandemic, helped in part by strong links with the University of Bristol, which is among the Top 10 universities in the UK for producing start-up companies. Overall, there are now 430 tech companies in Bristol. Along with start-ups, big tech firms such as Nokia, BT, Vodafone, Oracle and Amazon all have offices in the city and may offer internship opportunities for our IFP students.(Source).

I am here because of a gas explosion. An explosion that happened about 30 years ago in London and left me standing on the street with just the clothes I stood up in.
With the apartment block I lived in completely destroyed, I had to borrow the train fare and make my way back to my childhood home in Bournemouth and find work. For those of you who know the town, you will be aware that it has language schools, lots of language schools and so it was that I found myself on the CELTA course.
My work in international education now spans four decades both in the UK and overseas. My whole career has been dedicated to helping students discover their strengths, improve their skills and fulfil their potential.
I have significant management experience in schools, including twelve years as Principal in British Council and ISI accredited schools. This time as Principal included six years with full responsibility for an international boarding school with 40 staff and 500 students across the year. The other six years were spent leading an international language school with 30 staff and 1500 students annually, specialising in Aviation and Maritime English.
My wife, Maria, is Colombian and together we have two children Louis and Sara plus our dog and cat. In my spare time, I am an armchair football fan which I make more personally challenging by following West Ham and I am also a keen archer, plus when the creative mood takes me, I enjoy pyrography.
