Residential Accommodation, Homestay and Pastoral Care
At Bristol International College we prioritise the provision of outstanding pastoral care and top of the range residential or homestay accommodation. We understand the importance of ensuring that our students are happy, safe and well cared for, so that they may flourish in their academic studies and make the most of their stay in the United Kingdom.
Most students aged 18 or over, will live in one of our newly refurbished residences in the leafy and prestigious suburb of Clifton, just a short walk from the BIC teaching centre. Each studio-style single bedroom provides en-suite accommodation, with modern and comfortable furnishings, allowing students to settle and study in their own personalised living space. Some have kitchenettes within the studio whereas other residences offer a modern, fully-equipped communal kitchen where BIC students can store and prepare food. Lunch from Monday to Friday is provided for all students at the teaching centre.
Homestay accommodation is the only option for students under 18 years old and an alternative for older students to staying in one of our residences. Students live with local, hand-picked families, all of whom have been properly vetted and checked according to our rigorous standards of safety, suitability and cleanliness. The families provide the students with breakfast and dinner during the week and full-board at weekends. We work in partnership with Berkeley Guardians, a professional homestay and guardianship organisation in order to ensure that all host families reach our high standards of care.
Staff at BIC and Berkeley Guardians are highly qualified in pastoral care, with a particular specialism in looking after students who are living away from home, often for the first time. They are available for all students on a 24/7 basis and provide a homely and welcoming atmosphere, encouraging students to come forward with any concerns or issues that they may have.
